There are so many ways to build your list, but the main are using landing pages and opt-in popups.
Creating these solutions requires a code, having good design skills, and a lot of testing.
I think not everybody has this type of skillset and this amount of time.
Fortunately, there are a few software that can help you build landing pages and popups without much effort. And the most popular of these hands down is LeadPages.
In this LeadPages review I’m going to show you:
- Part 1: What is LeadPages?
- Part 2: A look inside LeadPages

LeadBoxes
There is a lot of software that can help you add opt-in forms to your website, Thrive Leads for example, but I would have to say that Leadboxes is the

However, the most popular is a 2-step opt-in. This is where your visitor has to click on a link or button for a popup to appear.

The user does micro commitment when pressing the button and tests had shown that it increases conversion.
As Leadpages, Leadboxes can be edited with drag and drop editor.

Integrating LeadPages & 3rd Party Software
If your website is on WordPress, then you can use the LeadPages plugin. It gives you the ability to access landing pages and popups right from WordPress admin panel.

Leadpages will be used as usual WordPress pages with your custom url.
You can also setup Leadboxes from this plugin: set up when and where to show popups.
Non-Wordpress users can also integrate their sites with LeadPages. You can always export plain HTML code and paste it to your website.
And lastly, you can host your landing pages on LeadPages itself. But keep in mind, that you’ll have to use Leadpages’ URL.
Leadpages only helps to collect Emails and you need some Email service provider to save this leads and work with them. Leadpages supports all the main software including Aweber, Drip, ConvertKit, and MailChimp.
As Leadpages owns Drip, I think it’s the best combination and I have a post about how to integrate Leadpages with Drip.

LeadPages versus the Competition
I mentioned early on that there are quite a few competitors in this landing page and popup email opt-in space.
LeadPages vs ClickFunnels
I’ll say right away that Clickfunnels is more powerfull tool. But it also requires more technical skills and money.
ClickFunnels will cost you $97 a month for the core features and $297 for Actionetics/Backpack.
If you just need to collect more emails, I’ll recommend you to use Leadpages, as it’s easier and cheaper.
LeadPages vs ThriveLeads
Thrive Leads is also another popular alternative to LeadPages. Actually, it’s just a WordPress plugin, not a software like LeadPages or ClickFunnels.
Thrive Leads’ main focus is opt-in forms, which you can add to your website in different forms, so it’s pretty similar like Leadboxes.

Thrive Leads differentiates by Slide In forms, Scroll Mat and Ribbon options that LeadPages doesn’t have. And A/B testing here is much more powerful than in Leadboxes.
If you only need lead forms on your website, you can use Thrive Leads.
But if you need something bigger – use Leadpages.
Final Thoughts about Leadpages
It’s definitely very powerful and even essential tool for every marketer. It is a secret weapon when talking about lead generation. And this templates…they just do all the hard work for you and you don’t have to waste weeks on layout A/B testing.
Leadpages certainly worth it’s money and should try it.
